Frequently asked questions

Order before 2pm on a working day and we dispatch the same day. After 2pm, at a weekend or on a UK bank holiday, your order goes out the next working day. Our warehouse runs Monday to Friday.

UK delivery is free on orders over £30. Below that, Standard delivery is £3.99 and arrives within 2–4 working days, and Express is £4.99 and arrives within 1–2. Remote and surcharge postcodes are £9.99 and are not covered by the free delivery offer. You choose your service at checkout.

Our courier of choice will vary between Evri, Yodel, DPD or DX depending on item, quantity and value, so it isn't something you pick at checkout. Whichever carrier it goes with, you get the same tracking link by email.

As soon as your order leaves our warehouse we email you a tracking number and a link to follow it. If you can't find that email, check your spam folder first, then email us at hello@lobyhome.com with your order number and we'll send it again.

Not yet — we currently deliver to the UK mainland only. We're working on bringing Loby to more places, so join our mailing list and we'll let you know when that changes.

Start with the tracking link in your dispatch email; most delayed parcels are with the courier and turn up within a day or two.

If tracking shows the parcel as delivered but you don't have it, or nothing has moved for several days, get in touch with your order number and we'll chase it.

Yes — you have 30 days from delivery. Return postage on a change-of-mind return is at your cost, and the item should be unused and in its original packaging where possible.

Please let us know within 7 days of delivery so we can resolve it as quickly as possible. Send your order number and a photo or short video of the problem.

We'll arrange a prepaid return label where appropriate and either a replacement or a full refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Once your return has reached us and been inspected, we refund to your original payment method. It then typically takes 3–5 working days to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Every Loby product comes with a 1-month warranty covering manufacturing defects, damage in transit and missing parts.

It doesn't cover accidental damage, incorrect installation, general wear and tear, or misuse.

Our Essential shelves are made from high-quality MDF with a smooth, modern finish, in a range of colours and sizes. They are designed to sit above a working radiator at normal household temperatures.

Shelves come in 40cm, 60cm, 75cm, 90cm, 100cm, 120cm and 140cm.

Measure the full width of your radiator, from the outside of one valve to the outside of the other, or to the outside of the cap where there is no valve. Choose the shortest shelf that is at least 5cm longer: 40cm fits radiators up to 35cm, 60cm up to 55cm, 75cm up to 70cm, 90cm up to 85cm, 100cm up to 95cm, 120cm up to 115cm and 140cm up to 135cm.

Your radiator should also sit at least 5cm from the wall. Every shelf is 15.1cm deep.

No drilling. The brackets rest against the wall and hold by tension and the weight of the shelf, so they work on any wall type and with standard UK radiators.

Sit the shelf around 2–5cm above the top of the radiator; you can adjust the height by moving the brackets forward or back. Every shelf comes with its brackets and fixings and a step-by-step guide. On a very uneven wall the shelf can sit slightly off balance, and the brackets can show if the shelf sits higher than usual.

Around 2–4kg, depending on the wall. They're made for small to medium décor — candles, diffusers, small frames, plants, ornaments — rather than heavy items, and we'd avoid anything wet.

The 120cm and 140cm shelves include a middle bracket for extra support and to stop the shelf bowing.

Loby Thermal shelves have a heat-reflective foil underside designed to push warmth forward into the room. Loby Essential shelves don't have the foil and are designed for décor and storage.

Metal poles are high-grade steel and fully extendable, in 70–120cm, 120–210cm and 160–300cm. They're built to support medium to heavy-weight curtains — use all the included brackets.

Wooden poles are solid wood in 28mm and 35mm: 28mm for standard and lighter curtains, 35mm for heavier or fuller ones. Lengths are 120, 150, 180, 240 and 300cm, and the longer poles ship in two parts for easier fitting. Finishes include natural oak, white, black, walnut and grey.

Metal poles work with eyelet, ring-top and tab-top curtains, depending on style.

Wooden poles work with ring-top, pencil pleat (with hooks) and pinch pleat curtains. Eyelet curtains aren't recommended on wooden poles unless the eyelets are large enough to glide smoothly.

Measure the full width of your window, then add 15–20cm to each side so the curtains clear the glass when open. For a balanced look, fit the pole 10–15cm above the top of the window frame.

Every pole includes brackets, finials, screws, fixings and rings. The included screws and plugs suit standard walls; for plasterboard we'd recommend specialist fixings. Most poles go up in 10–20 minutes with basic tools, and instructions are in the box.

Metal poles are extendable, so cutting usually isn't needed. Wooden poles can be cut, but a cut pole can't be returned — the finials come off and back on to make that easier.
